About the Author
Rebecca Bace is a survivor of over 20 years in the IT trenches, over
half that time spent dealing with computer and network security. Her tenure
in information security includes 12 years as a senior electronics engineer
for the National Security Agency, where she led the Computer Misuse and
Anomaly Detection (CMAD) Research program from 1989 to 1995. She is currently
the president of Infidel, Inc., a network security consulting practice,
headquartered in Scotts Valley, California. Her recent book, Intrusion
Detection (Macmillan Technical Publishing, December, 1999) has been
critically acclaimed as an authoritative guide to intrusion detection
for information systems.
